Counseling Approach

Mindful Mountain approaches the counseling relationship from a holistic, integrative perspective. Physical, emotional, and spiritual health all play a role in wellness, and we’ll look to see which areas of your life may need attention.

Just as no two people are alike, no two counseling approaches will be the same. My work integrates attachment, psychodynamic, existential, family systems, and mindfulness-based approaches; and if those are the pillars, then interpersonal neurobiology provides the scientific foundation that underlies why this combination works for positive therapeutic outcome.

Finally, it is important to emphasize that I am not a passive therapist. While trust and compassion are profoundly important, so is dynamic, intelligent engagement. I employ Feedback-Informed Treatment (FIT) to determine whether therapy is working for you. If it’s not, I adapt the approach or find a clinician better suited to help you. Whatever your goals may be, my goal is to help you find the path toward realizing them.

My practice specialties are:

  • Relationships/Marriage
  • Depression
  • Anxiety/Stress Management
  • Grief and Loss
  • Chronic Illness
  • Life Transitions
